Software Test Engineer (all genders)

Location: Remote within Germany – ideally based near Frankfurt or Magdeburg Industry: Capital Markets Technology

Our client is a well-established software company building high-performance solutions for the capital markets. Their technology helps banks, trading platforms, and financial institutions operate efficiently, securely, and in full regulatory compliance.

To strengthen their QA team, they are looking for a Software Test Engineer to work closely with developers and product managers to ensure the quality of complex software – from concept to release.

• Plan, design and carry out structured software testing

• Analyse customer-reported issues and bugs

• Collaborate with development teams on new features and improvements

• Continuously enhance test processes and quality standards

Must-haves:

• A degree in (business) informatics, mathematics or a comparable technical education (e.g. IT specialist)

• Minimum 2 years of experience in manual software testing

• Experience in planning and executing test cases

• Strong analytical and structured mindset

• Interest in financial mathematics – ideally related to electronic securities trading

• Fluent German (written and spoken) and good English skills

Nice-to-haves:

• SQL skills for database queries

• Familiarity with TCP/IP client-server environments

• Basic programming knowledge – ideally VBA with Excel

• ISTQB® certification

Salary range

• Frankfurt:

  • Professional level: €50,000 – €65,000

  • Senior level: from €65,000+

• Magdeburg:

  • Professional level: €40,000 – €55,000

  • Senior level: from €55,000+
